It's the last day of May! A strange month for me, but I had some favourites along the way...
Favourite album: I Love My Computer - Ninajirachi
I'm not usually one for EDM - I'm a core kid forever, I fear - but something about this album just scratches an itch for me. I got into Nina from Porter Robinson and I'm never looking back. I do, in fact, wanna fuck my computer. This record manages to feel nostalgic and brand new at the same time. It takes me back to being fifteen, on the beach with my friends, drinking stolen alcohol. What a time. Favourite track is iPod Touch, if you were wondering.
Favourite game: I'm On Observation Duty 8
God, it took me so long to finally beat a level on this game. I've played every OD game since number four, and I have no regrets. The premise of this game is that you are a CCTV observer who has to spot - and fix - strange, creepy mismatches. Some are so obvious you'll jump out of your seat, some are so subtle you'll go an entire night without noticing them. So far, I've beat the ranch, the lighthouse, the fashion venue, and the airplane. I play this with my girlfriend a lot - it's a great screensharing game for groups!
Favourite song: Whisper of a Dream - Holding Absence
Favourite day: Beach day + day-drinking with friends
Favourite item: Hel seal bottle opener
I got this seal bottle opener when I last went to visit my girlfriend in Poland. We visited a seal sanctuary a few hours away from her, and the entire town was seal-themed. Seals galore. Heaven on Earth for a guy like me. This keychain was so adorably cursed, I couldn't not buy it. I'm yet to use it on a bottle - I just like looking at it. Doesn't it look like a shitpost?
Favourite food: Pad kra pao
My friend Rhia's recipe. She spent a semester in Thailand and came back with an estrogen script and new cooking knowledge. She put me onto this - jasmine rice, ground beef with garlic, basil, and chillies, and a crispy fried egg on top. Beautifully simple. The first time I had this was after a psych appointment when she had invited me over for dinner to keep me alive. God, did it make me wanna live for more of this food. Thank you, Thailand.
